We imagine we’ll see an official release date announced sometime later this year, perhaps with a view to the game launched in 2023. When coupled with the COVID 19 pandemic and it’s not too surprising that the game has been a long time coming. However, in a tweet from leaker Dusk Golem it was suggested that the delays to the game may have been related to a change in director and Capcom affording the game an extra year in development. Previously the champion would qualify so it was expected the change was due to a new Street Fighter release. Most fans had expected the game to launch in 2021 when esports pros were informed that the Capcom Cup 2020 champion wouldn’t automatically qualify for the 2021 competition. That being said, the very fact that we have got a teaser trailer recently would suggest that a release date won’t be too far behind. When is Street Fighter 6 coming out? Whilst Capcom has confirmed that the game exists they’ve stopped short of providing an official release date for Street Fighter 6 following their initial teaser. The only other detail of note is that it looks like Luke is charging up his Hard Shot V-skill in the trailer, which seems like a cool detail to include. We have some ideas, but we’ll save that for the story section further down. The teaser, which you can see below offers very few clues as to what fans can expect from the new game.

So far the only trailer for Street Fighter 6 consists of a short teaser with Ryu and Luke squaring off for a fight. But what else do we know about the next entry in arguably the greatest fighting game around? Read on, and we’ll explain everything you need to know about Capcom’s upcoming brawler. Given that Street Fighter 5 launched back in 2016, there’s no doubt that fans are ready for a new chapter, with Xbox fans in particular hoping that they can also join the fight. It’s official: Street Fighter 6 has finally been announced by Capcom with a short CGI trailer to get fans excited of what’s to come.
